Privacy Policy

Ambient helps you create iPhone widgets from metrics you choose to track. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: authentication identifiers and email address provided through our sign-in provider.
- Metric configuration: metric names, endpoint URLs, JSON paths, display settings, polling interval, widget presets, and related configuration.
- Credentials: API keys or tokens you choose to add for metric polling. Credentials are stored encrypted and are not shown back after saving.
- Metric values: numeric values returned by your configured endpoints, plus recent samples used for widget display and sparklines.
- Subscription information: purchase and entitlement status from Apple and our subscription provider.
- Analytics and diagnostics: app usage events, device/app metadata, and error information used to improve Ambient.
How we use information
- To provide the app, poll configured metrics, and update widgets.
- To authenticate your account and sync your settings.
- To manage subscriptions and feature access.
- To monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
- To respond to support requests.
Third-party services
Ambient may use third-party services for authentication, subscriptions, analytics, hosting, database storage, and infrastructure. These services process information only as needed to provide Ambient.
Your metric sources
You control which endpoints and credentials you connect. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to connect those services to Ambient and that the data you expose is appropriate for widget display.
Data retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Ambient, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request account deletion by contacting us at contact@getambient.dev.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted credential storage. No system is perfectly secure, and you should avoid connecting credentials or endpoints that expose data you do not want processed by Ambient.
Children
Ambient is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice as appropriate.
